It's that time of year again! The Liebster Tag has been floating around and i've been tagged by the lovely Ayemcue.blogspot.co.uk
This tag enables bloggers to promote one another and also learn a few new things along the way!
The rules are:
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way of expression. I'm a very quite person naturally and keep a lot of my thoughts to myself. So I suppose, in a way it was a means of healthy expression. Writing is something I've always enjoyed as is photography, so I combine the two hobbies with my lifestyle and ramble on about anything and everything.
What's your favourite book?
Honestly all my favourite books are children's books, which says a fair deal about who I am as a person. Everyone likes a happily ever after and I feel books geared towards an adult audience don't usually end that way. Anne Of Green Gables or A Little Princess are up there with my favourites. "Didn't your daddy ever tell you that you were a princess? Didn't he?"
Aside from blogging, what other hobbies do you have?
I love music so going to gigs or festivals is something I love to do when I can afford to! Songwriting is something I also really enjoy and find super therapeutic.
If you could go anywhere on holiday, where would it be?
Tahiti or Barbados. Legit swear I was an Islander in a past life. Technically in this one too, given I'm from Ireland but a hotter climate would be fab.
When you were small, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A boy. I was the most ungirly girl ever and used to always say, i'd have been better born a boy. I was obsessed with all boy things like skate boarding, video games and football and I used to cry when my mum dressed me in pink. I remember being obsessed with Avril Lavigne when she came out, because she was the only Tomboy kind of person around at the time in mainstream media. Sort of funny now, because I am quite typically girly now that I've gotten older.
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Honestly, neither. I'm not a pet person at all. I don't know why, they just don't interest me. I had loads of pets when I was younger and they always died suddenly so maybe there's something subconsciously in me that stays away from them. Aint nobody got time for the heartbreak!
What’s your favourite thing to watch on TV?
At the minute, Love Island - aint gonna lie. Usually though i'm more of a New Girl kinda person and I'm also gutted that #GirlBoss has come to an end! Basically anything a little offbeat or weird.
Do you have something you want to achieve soon? What is it?
My driving licence!! I'm 23, my 21 year old brother has been driving since 17 and my 17 year old sister got her provisional a few weeks back, biggest kick up the hole if ever I needed it. So just sent away for that and can't wait to start lessons. Also I'm going back to Uni in September to study Broadcast Journalism and really want to graduate with an amazing BA.
What are you proudest of?
Honestly, just being a good person. I'm not an angel, I've got my fair share of regrets. But day to day life, I think I live in a very genuine and good way. I'm also very honest and people always know where they stand with me so I think being true to myself and how I feel, in this day and age where people say one thing and act in the opposite way is something to be proud of. Feel like that answer was shit but that's the craic, soooo..
Do you have a favourite quote?
She wasn't afraid to be herself. When everyone else said, "Be a lamb",
she showed her fangs and became a wolf.
As it's basically an ode to confidence and freedom in yourself. I think most beautiful thing in anyone is the ability to be fully authentic especially in such a judgemental era. One of my best friends Azara is like the ultimate wolf, she's always been quirky and never tried to be anything else and that's what I admire most about her.
When it rains look for rainbows,
when it's dark look for stars
Pretty self explanatory. Despite whatever shit life throws at you, you can take a positive from a negative if you choose not to be a victim. If you can seek the positive in an otherwise negative situation and come out the other side better for having experienced it, you're pretty magical.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
Don't waste your life, waiting to live.
Not gonna lie, some of these guys have over 200 Followers on Twitter, some don't have Twitter at all. But they're blogs are ones I genuinely read & love and you should check them out! *I wanted to only include blogs I actually read as opposed to firing any old Tom, Dick or Harry in for the sheer sake of it.
